About The Artist

Saud Shaker Khan, a distinguished Saudi calligrapher and visual artist, Born in Makkah, 1960.
He is noted for his significant contributions to the promotion of Arabic calligraphy on both a local and international scale throughout his career. Prior to dedicating himself fully to his art, he worked for Saudia Airlines from 1983 until his retirement in 2019.
Khan holds memberships in several prominent organizations, including the Saudi Society for Culture and Arts in Jeddah, the Arab Calligraphy Society in Egypt, and the International Arabic Calligraphy Association. Furthermore, he directs the Arabic Calligraphy Club at the Tasami Center for Visual Arts. His expertise is recognized through his service as a jury member for prestigious events such as the International Arabic Calligraphy Contest in Makkah and the
“From Our Heritage” competition, which was organized by Aramco under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.
His artwork has been showcased in Jeddah Season, the Jeddah Book Fair, and in multiple national and international exhibitions across countries such as Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, the Czech Republic, Rome, Berlin, Hungary, Tokyo, China, Portugal, Russia, Cyprus, Cairo, Morocco, and Qatar.
Khan’s notable achievements include winning first place in the international competition “With Love for Makkah We Meet” for designing a 450 m2 mosaic mural, which subsequently earned a place in the Guinness World Records. Additionally, in 2018, he secured second place in the Okaz International Arabic Calligraphy Competition.
He designed a major mural at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and participated in Aramco’s “Ithra Knowledge Festival”. As the founder of Gallery A’zf Al-Harf, he creates custom classical and contemporary calligraphic artworks, offers Arabic calligraphy courses from beginner to advanced levels, and sells a wide range of calligraphy tools and supplies at Salma Center, Jeddah (Adham Arts Center).He is the founder of Gallery A’zf Al-Harf, which specializes in custom classical and contemporary calligraphic artworks, and also offers Arabic calligraphy courses for all levels. Furthermore, the gallery sells a comprehensive selection of calligraphy tools and supplies and is located at Salma Center, Jeddah (Adham Arts Center). His other works include designing a major mural for King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and participating in Aramco’s “Ithra Knowledge Festival”.
